Happy Camper

How can you not love this. A cute, fluffy yeti dancing and singing happy tunes while camping?! It's the cutest thing. You dont believe me. Watch the music video, you're heart will melt and you will be nice forever.
The basic idea is a big collaboration of cool dutch people making music. The opening song is one of the happiest things I've ever heard. Talking about cutting hair or letting it grow. Having another drink or going home. Give it a shot, and dont be afraid to crack a grin during this holiday season.

For No One

http://fornoone.tv/

The ultimate hipster way to view a show. Their are literally no one at these performances. It is purely the band and a camera; thus, for no one. As exclusive as you can get. So exclusive that even the band doesn't know you're attending.

The sweet thing about it all is they make it look sweet and very personalized to the band. Right now their are only a few bands that have performed, such as Neon Indian and Delorean, but they have announced shows by Girls and Ladytron. This is definitely something to keep an eye on. Its similar to music video's but much more about the band and their style. Make sure to check in on this, you might like what you see.

King Krule

Archy Marshall, the teenager behind King Krule and Zoo Kid, is a force to be reckoned with. Only 17 years old he's moving into musical territory that very little have ventured. His style is very artistic and described as darkwave or new wave. You'd never believe it but the voice that comes out of this kid is deep, jazzy, and hypnotic.

Archy grew up with some very artistic parents that kind of segwayed his musical influences. Calm and collective, he already seems to be a pro. He basically started doing all this as a kid.

To create music, he worked with whatever
instruments or tools he could get his hands on. It
wasn't really the equipment that made his music great,
it was how he used the equipment he had that made
his music great. Taking on influences from old-school
east coast rap, jazz, and dubstep he's creating something
new to the ears, and it's addicting.

Youth Lagoon

-Youth Lagoon, a mastermind project by Boise native Trevor Powers, gives a super lo-fi music option. The magic all comes from complete honosty. The music and lyrics all revolve on single thoughts and memories and it feels as if you go into Trevor's head. Once your in there you'll find that its chalk full of anxiety which is inspiration. Really deep and airy, but some killer musical magician work. Give it a shot and enjoy deep thoughts and faint memories.

-These are some good one's, but be sure to check out the song's "Daydreaming", "Posters", and "17".

RE:GENERATION

Remember that dream you had only awakening to a cold sweat? yep well that dream was probably something about the thought of mixing Skrillex with The Doors, or maybe Pretty Lights with LeAnn Rimes. Stop dreaming this is real. A film sponsored by none other then Hyundai will place top electronic artists of today with genre's from country to classical. The thought is to explore. The beauty is when differences are brought together, and RE:GENERATION basically forces this to happen. Who knows, maybe this will convince DJ Premier to be an orchestra conductor someday.

The Deck the Hall Ball!!

Dec. 7th is the best way to start off your Christmas. Mumford and Sons, Death Cab for Cutie, Cage the Elephant, Foster the People, Young the Giant, Two Door Cinema Club, and Grouplove all at the same place! Their is absolutely no excuse for not being there. Yeah okay your wife is having a baby, okay you have cancer, sure you live on the streets with on three coke cans to trade in for money. It doesn't matter. Make it happen. It is very rare to have a show like this, meaning not a single flaw in the line up. If you like being cool. Be there. If you like Christmas. Be there. If you kiss your sister. Stop doing that then be there.

CHRIS MILK

As they say "video killed the radio star". But things change and now-a-days I'm agreeing more with The Limousines as they said "internet killed the video star". Well if internet is doing some killing well it definitely didn't see Chris Milk coming.
He's been doing this for a while, destroying the standards for music videos. Chris Milk has a history. A resume of working with the likes of Kanye West, Arcade Fire, and Gnarles Barkley, and a background in all the arts he's pushing the limits. He's basically pure genius and modern day DaVinci.
If you ever venture on to his online portfolio your mind will be crying from all the inovation going on in this guys head. Yes, his past regular music videos are impressive, but thats not what he's all about. He's finished three very impressive experimental music videos. They all take the advantages of the internet and make the videos all user-interactive. They all show where music is heading. Right here in front your keyboard. Check this out if you're brave enough to discover the future.

Neon Indian

Artist: Neon Indian
Album: Era Extrana
From: Denton, Texas

If ears could breathe there would been many a thing that one could do. First of all you could probably talk without moving your mouth, spit on people who are directly on your left and right, and maybe even drool on your own earlobe. However, if one listened to Neon Indian with breathable ears, you might die of lack of oxygen from pure electronic sound fluid.
A mastermind project brought on by Alan Palomo, Neon Indian is right now in the for-front of electronic music scene. Alan being brought up by a Mexican pop star father, he's always been at least waist deep in music. He is nearly involved in all aspects of music; whether it's from creating his own Midi, to producing a Miniature Tiger song, to doing an EP with none other than the Flaming Lips.
Now releasing the his newest album since his stunningly successful debut, Psychic Chasms, Palomo destroyed our previous thought of what sounds actually makes music. It almost seems he uses pure magic to keep control of his original noises. Its beautiful and holds the statement that we can control the machine.
Live, the sounds travel. The band uses things that look like giant circuit boards to things that look like TV antennas  to create a smooth psychedelic sound. That's not even it. The light show is also very impressive and dips in and out of the music perfectly. Also in use is random visual spectacles that will blow all reality for example. Last year the guitarist whipped out a guitar fitted with an LCD screen right behind the strings. If that's not what you're looking for (pure awesomeness that is) well then you don't know how to look.

MUSICTONIC

Best app of Google Chrome (okay at least amongst the best music apps). If you have Google Chrome and like being cool and popular, you need this thing. The basic idea is you type in an artist that you like (or don't like, the worlds your oyster) and it brings up a constant feed of music video's of that artist! Its like magic. But thats not even it. Next thing you know it, your wandering eyes connect to a list of 16 more similar artist that you can check out. Yeah i know, a miracle. Google does it again. A nice feature that musictonic brings to the show is it plays through the video's automatically! Yeah so basically select a band you like, then select one that has a nifty name, then sit and relax while you are put into a trance of beautiful moving pictures and sulky sounds. Look into it. Give a chance. Then realize how much I have made your life better. Yeah, your welcome.

TAKEAWAY SHOWS

If you haven't heard, takeaway shows are all the rave. And rave's are what we're all about. Basically the idea is, you take a great band/artist/musician/rockstar and you put him/her/it somewhere random and ask for musical perfection. It works out very nicely sometimes. It's kind of like mixing flash mobs with talent. The best part is seeing the random passer by's wondering who these weirdo's singing in the middle of a busy street singing and player there flutes and maracas. Honestly its a flawless way to see how really talented these bands are. Some of the best takeaway shows I've seen has been put on by a bunch of french dudes at a website called http://www.blogotheque.net/ . I don't know what they've done to the website recently, but now its total crap (maybe its a french form of web building, it might be super trendy but I'm not up to date of foreign fashions). I can't really seem to get around the website very easily and get lost in bad google chrome translating. But thats not the point. The idea is brilliant. I recommend looking them up on youtube, its much easier to find the best ones. If you like good music, good music videos, and good music live takeaway shows are a must. Some of them take awhile to get started, but be patient, you will be peeing your pants soon.
